Faith in Learning

We Don’t Just Teach About God—We Teach With God.

At Rock Harbor, we believe Christ is not confined to chapel time—He’s the foundation of everything we do. From morning devotions to math class, our faith is interwoven into every lesson, every subject, and every conversation.

We Teach with God

We begin each day with a time of worship, prayer, and reflection. Students are encouraged to keep spiritual journals, write down prayer requests, and reflect on how God is speaking to them. Through scripture memory and discussion, they explore big questions like:

  • Who is God?

  • What is His plan for me?

  • How do I use my gifts to serve others?

These aren’t hypothetical questions—they’re invitations to encounter truth.

Throughout our academic program, we ask, “What does the Bible say about this?” In science, students marvel at creation. In history, they trace God’s faithfulness through time. In writing, they learn to use words to glorify and encourage. Faith is not a subject; it’s a lens. A light. A living presence in our classrooms.

When students know who they are and Whose they are, everything changes. Confidence grows. Purpose becomes clear. And their education becomes a tool to impact the world for God’s glory.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

Statement of Beliefs

  1. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit. He is the source of all life and truth and expresses his nature relationally.
  2. We believe the Bible is the Word of God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and
the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  3. We believe in the deity of Jesus, the only begotten son of the Father, his humanity, His virgin
birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary and atoning death through His shed
blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His
personal return in power and glory.
  4. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whom the Christian is enabled to live a
godly life, empowered to be God’s witness in the world, and given gifts to edify others.
  5. We believe that because of the fall of mankind into sin, we are all separated from God and
need salvation. We receive salvation when we come to God through faith in the atoning work of
his son Jesus on the cross.
  6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved will be raised
to eternal life, and they that are lost to eternal death.
  7. We believe that all humans beings are created in God’s image and are thus inherently valuable
—from conception until natural death—whether or not the culture regards them as healthy,
productive, or useful. We believe all forms of abuse, slander, oppression, or violence toward
human beings is an insult against God’s sacred image.
  8. We believe male and female genders are not mere social constructions but the design of a
loving Creator to reflect him. Male and female are equal in value but complementary in their
relationship to one another. We believe marriage is created by God and intended for one man
    and one woman.
  9. As God’s image-bearers, we believe people of all nationalities have the calling to steward
creation, work diligently, and advance God’s purposes by acting in a transforming way in
    culture.
